Elomatic was responsible for the project’s design and implementation as an EPCM partner (Engineering, Procurement and Construction Management).
How did we do it?
Elomatic was responsible for project management, technical design, site supervision, and procurement, including the competitive bidding process for the boiler supplier.
The new electric boiler became part of an integrated system comprising two power plant units and a heat accumulator. Its district heating capacity represents approximately half the capacity of one Pursiala power plant unit.
The completion of the electric boiler enables district heating production using renewable electricity instead of combustion-based district heating. Its capacity is sufficient to independently produce all the district heating consumption for Mikkeli’s district heating network during the period from approximately mid-May to the end of September.
