Our impact

Our most significant sustainability impact lies in how we help shape our customers’ operations. Through our work, we strive to create long-lasting and meaningful change.

We help our customers and partners operate in accordance with the principles of sustainable development, with a particular focus on energy and material efficiency. Our goal is always to deliver solutions that are both safe and sustainable. Our work plays a long-term and significant role – especially in industrial plant projects, where our impact can extend 25–30 years into the future.

As project managers, we have a uniquely broad opportunity to influence sustainability. We integrate sustainability into every phase of our work, starting with the procurement of equipment and expert resources for our customers. By applying best practices, we optimize efficiency and sustainability at every stage of the project – exceeding industry standards and regulations whenever possible.

Projects we have delivered

Heat pump system

Elomatic implemented a new heat pump system for Valio’s Seinäjoki plant – utilizes waste heat and brings significant savings.

Simulating accident scenarios

Simulating accident scenarios helped ABB enhance motor safety.

Infinited Fiber Company

New fiber from textile waste – Elomatic helps Infinited Fiber Company in their important mission.

Internally developed solutions

In addition to customer work, we develop innovative solutions that promote sustainability.

Elogrid™

Elogrid is a solution installed on ships that improves energy efficiency in maritime transport. One of its most significant advantages is its ability to reduce fuel consumption and thereby decrease the carbon dioxide emissions caused by marine traffic.

Float Foundation – a unique foundation solution

Float Foundation is a unique foundation solution for offshore wind power. Increasing offshore wind power enables more efficient energy production with lower environmental impact. Learn more > Float Foundation – our unique foundation solution.

Green North Energy

Elomatic has also founded companies that advance sustainable development. One such company is Green North Energy, which is currently developing a green ammonia pilot plant in Naantali, Finland.

Recognizing our adverse impacts

The significant effects of our design work on the lifecycle of products, production equipment, and facilities highlight the importance of recognizing potential negative consequences of our activities. This understanding is crucial to safeguarding the environment and the well-being of people throughout the value chain.

The materiality analysis showed that our most critical systematic impacts concern the workload of knowledge work and the environmental burden caused by our business. Based on the identified impacts, we are able to develop measures that support the prevention of adverse effects.

Measuring our impact

We continuously develop methods to assess the environmental impact of our work and solutions. For example, the carbon handprint of our Elogrid flow control solution was calculated as part of a thesis project.

Quantified results not only help us communicate the environmental value of our solutions but also provide valuable insights for further development. When assessing impacts, we consider the entire life cycle of our solutions and investments, including their full value chains.
