We work with customers across the marine industry. For shipyards, we cover the full design and engineering process for all vessel types, from early concept through to production-ready documentation. Consulting and Project Services
We support shipyards, shipowners, and other marine industry organizations with consulting and project management services. Our team helps clients plan, manage, and improve how they work, from developing shipyard processes and capabilities to leading complex vessel programs from start to delivery.
Ship Design and Engineering
We develop vessel concepts for owners who need a technically solid brief to take to market, and deliver full engineering packages that give shipyards everything they need to build from. Our teams cover every discipline, hull and structural design, machinery and systems, electrical and automation, HVAC, and interior, in a single coordinated package. We have delivered concept and engineering work for some of the most demanding vessel programs in recent years, including polar icebreakers
Performance and Optimization
We apply computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and hydrodynamic expertise from the design stage through to operation, from hull form validation early on to performance optimization once a vessel is in service. For owners with existing fleets, we identify the most cost-effective modifications and simulate their impact before any investment is made. Our lifecycle services, including our subsidiary Ablemans LCS, cover upgrades, retrofits, and technical services for vessels in active operation.
Sustainability and Compliance
Environmental regulation affects both how vessels are designed and how they are operated. We help shipyards meet design-phase requirements such as EEDI and EEXI, and support shipowners in managing CII compliance, alternative fuel adoption, and fleet-wide emission targets. Our work covers the full range of decarbonization challenges, from evaluating ammonia and methanol as viable fuel options to identifying energy-saving modifications with a clear return on investment.
Products and Solutions
Our proprietary products and data-driven solutions give clients measurable performance gains and operational insight throughout the vessel lifecycle. Elogrid™ reduces thruster tunnel resistance on both newbuilds and retrofits, Aura APM supports fleet-wide asset performance management, and our 3D scanning services provide the accurate as-built data that retrofit and maintenance projects depend on. Float Foundation offers a cost-effective gravity-based solution for offshore wind installation.

The new Polarstern
Icebreaker, multidisciplinary research platform – and pioneer: Polarstern II will be a modern polar research and resupply vessel to succeed the Polarstern. She will be the lifeline to the Arctic and Antarctic, not to mention a shining example of sustainability and innovation in shipping. She will ensure that top-notch research continues in the future, offering the global community new insights into how our oceans and polar regions can be protected.
Reducing MS Crown Seaways’fuel consumption with Elogrid: An installation story
DFDS A/S has installed Elogrid™ on the MS Crown Seaways to enhance the ship’s energy efficiency and reduce carbon emissions. The installation was successfully completed during the vessel’s annual drydocking at the Fayard repair yard in January 2024.
The biggest icebreaker of the Canadian Coast Guard is the result of collaboration between Elomatic and Seaspan Vancouver Shipyard
Elomatic has been a key engineering partner in vessel design from basic design to functional design and is continuing the collaboration in production design phase. An important part of the collaboration with Seaspan is the development of the capabilities at the shipyard including standards development, project management, process development, and design build support.
