Presentation: Preparing for disruption in the food industry

Tiina Salo, our Head of Food, Feed & Fertilizers, will present on how companies can prepare for crises, disruptions, and exceptional situations. She will also explain why building resilient production is worth the investment, and show what are the benefits of resilient production in everyday operations.

From idea to production in less than two years: Hailia devised a way to upcycle surplus fish raw materials into delicious everyday food
The technology developed by Finnish startup Hailia offers an ecological alternative, for example, to tuna or minced meat. It enables the transformation of small pelagic fish or sidestreams from fish filleting, typically used as feed for livestock, into versatile food products. The company’s future plans include entry into international markets.
Elomatic implemented a new heat pump system for Valio’s Seinäjoki plant – utilizes waste heat and brings significant savings
A heat pump system was implemented at Valio’s Seinäjoki plant to capture waste energy streams from factory processes using four new heat pumps. The new, more energy-efficient system aims to achieve annual heating savings of 12–14%.
From biomass to industrial raw material – CH-Bioforce scales its technology to industrial scale
Oat hulls and other biomass materials become pure biopolymers through CH-Bioforce’s fiber fragmentation technology. These biopolymers serve as ingredients in products like microplastic-free cosmetics, adhesives, and dietary fibers.
