Simulation-based R&D
Through simulation, we enable testing and optimization of products and complete systems even before manufacturing physical prototypes.
Simulation helps us identify potential problems at an early stage, accelerate the development process, reduce costs, and improve final product quality. Our expertise includes both flow simulation and structural analysis.
Using digital models, we can analyze structural integrity, aerodynamics, thermal management, and other critical properties, as well as system operation – such as the interaction of mechanics, electronics, and software. System-level simulation allows complex solutions and their interactions to be tested quickly and safely in a virtual environment.
With simulation, product development is smarter, better, and faster. When physical testing is needed, it is more targeted and efficient.

Finding the full potential of CFD
CFD, or Computational Fluid Dynamics, is a method that is often utilized only for the post-design phase, although it is very well suited for wider and efficient use throughout the design process. Optimal use of CFD analysis generally shortens projects’ lead times and improves product assessment. It also provides an excellent basis for preparing digital twins. In process modeling tasks, CFD is an excellent tool for studying the components, for example.
Small nuclear power plants generating emission-free energy may soon heat Finnish homes – pilot plant will help demonstrate safety
Finnish startup company Steady Energy will test a small nuclear reactor test facility in Helsinki’s Salmisaari in the coming years.
Visualizing the invisible: How Elomatic uses CFD to perfect cleanroom design
Pharmaceutical manufacturing starts in the cleanroom, where strict control ensures safety and quality. It’s a finely tuned environment where science, safety, and precision engineering converge. A well-functioning cleanroom protects patients, ensures product quality, and safeguards operators. And when it comes to cleanroom design, even the smallest detail can have a significant impact. A slight imbalance in airflow can lead to contamination; a poorly positioned vent can cause turbulence that disrupts sterile conditions.
Not only colorful pictures – CFD saves time and money
Did you know that by using computational fluid dynamics (CFD) you can save as much as 80 % in design time and 60 % in design costs? During the past 20 years, I’ve been lucky enough to participate in many interesting simulation projects both in Finland and abroad and have seen how clients have received instant help. But what is CFD really? Where can it be applied and why should it be utilized?
Kongsberg Maritime
Kongsberg Maritime, a Norwegian technology enterprise, is shaping the maritime future with sustainable technologies. For a product development project, Kongsberg Maritime hired Elomatic as a technical analysis partner to ensure the technical feasibility of a novel energy-saving solution. Throughout the project, Elomatic’s team demonstrated exceptional performance, earning increased responsibilities and a lead role.
Simulating accident scenarios helped ABB enhance motor safety
Elomatic investigated the operation of an electric motor in a situation where hydrogen gas enters the motor block. The simulation helped estimate the pressure that burning hydrogen causes inside the motor and how to prevent the fire from escaping the motor. The results were used to optimize the motor’s dimensions to meet safety standards.
