Elomatic grew despite the challenges in the industry: revenue reached a new record
Consulting and engineering company Elomatic reached a record revenue of €159 million in 2025, driven by a strong performance in the marine industry. The company also took significant steps to expand internationally across all its business areas.
2025 was a challenging year for technology companies broadly, with investments remaining modest. Despite this, Elomatic grew its revenue by 29% compared to the previous year. The EBIT margin was 9%. Growth was driven particularly by two large icebreaker projects – the Canadian Coast Guard’s Polar and Germany’s new Polarstern – and a recovery in Elomatic’s Industry segment. The company hired nearly 200 new experts.
“Our growth reflects our strong expertise in the marine industry and our willingness to expand internationally on the land side as well. We implemented our updated strategy a year ago, and it is already delivering results,” says Elomatic CEO Tom Lind.
During the year, Elomatic completed two acquisitions: Nomine Consult, a Baltic energy and environmental consultancy, and Ablemans LCS Oy, known for its expertise cruise vessel refits, docking and technical services. The majority of Elomatic’s growth was nonetheless organic.
The green transition and internationalization reflected in the order book
Elomatic’s order book grew particularly through projects advancing the green transition and circular economy solutions in the energy sector. In Finland, key assignments included Helen’s electric boiler plant project in Helsinki and collaboration with startups, reflecting broader market shifts.
For example, Elomatic contributed to the rapid growth of Aisti and the advancement of the Zero Mine circular economy project. Aisti is transforming acoustic panel manufacturing with new material solutions, while Zero Mine recovers critical metals from electronic waste.
The company made progress on its goal of growing international business, expanding its headcount particularly in Canada, Poland, Germany, and India.
Positive outlook for 2026
According to Lind, the marine industry order book looks stable, and the company continues to build a broader international presence. Additionally, signs of recovery are emerging across multiple sectors in Finland.
“Our strategy and recent structural changes are delivering results. We have strengthened our expertise by bringing in experienced specialists and continue to focus on innovation and productivity improvements. We want to be a workplace that top talent wants to join and where they feel valued,” says Lind.
