‘A day in the life’ at Elomatic
Małgorzata Bańkowska–Dawidczyk, Office Manager, Gdansk, Poland
Having been with Elomatic for nearly a decade, it’s incredible to reflect on my journey here. Starting as an assistant to the branch manager, I never imagined how deeply rooted I would become here. Over the years, I’ve developed into a valued member of the team in my role as Office Manager, that I’m both proud of and truly passionate about.
Day-to-day, I oversee a wide range of administrative and operational responsibilities, everything from HR and accounting to managing office supplies and internal logistics. Each day brings its own unique challenges and opportunities. My day typically begins around 5:30 a.m. It’s a quiet, focused time that allows me to get ahead before the office starts buzzing. This early routine has become essential for me, as it sets the tone for the day and gives me the headspace I need to handle a wide array of tasks. From ensuring the office runs smoothly, to supporting staff needs, my job is all about creating an efficient and welcoming environment.
I’ve always had a deep appreciation for Japanese culture, and one philosophy that’s especially inspired me is kaizen, which means “continuous improvement.” I truly believe in making small, everyday changes that can help to drive meaningful process over time. I try to bring apply this mindset my daily work by improving workflow efficiencies, helping things flow more smoothly, and creating a positive work environment. During my time at Elomatic, I have had the opportunity to develop my skills further, building on my master’s degree in environmental Protection, by completing postgraduate studies in Payroll and HR, and Human Resources Management.
Working in a job that is connected to nearly every part of the business requires more than just multitasking. Integrity is at the core of everything I do; being honest, accountable, and transparent, especially when working with sensitive financial and personnel matters. I believe in doing things by the book, avoiding shortcuts, and seeing tasks through, from start to finish.

Empathy and communication are just as important. Understanding that colleagues have families and lives beyond the office helps build that trust. I take pride in supporting others, and I’m grateful that people feel they can come to me with their concerns or questions.
Being resourceful, solving problems quickly, and fact-checking everything is essential. In this role, you have to anticipate challenges before they arise and keep the entire office running smoothly behind the scenes. While there are certainly big milestones that stand out, it’s the everyday successes that keep me going. When the team is happy, systems function smoothly, and everything flows as it should – that’s a win.
Elomatic isn’t always sunshine and rainbows, but it is a place where you’re encouraged to be yourself. It’s a company that values authenticity, supports professional growth, and gives you the tools to make a real impact. To anyone considering a role like mine, I would advise them to lean into the responsibilities, embrace the challenges, and commit to continuous learning. This kind of work may not always be in the spotlight, but it’s absolutely essential.
