Elomatic has partnered with Japanese shipping company NYK Group and NYK’s technology arm MTI to create the concept design for a futuristic emission-free pure car and truck carrier (PCTC), – the “NYK SUPER ECO SHIP 2050”. Compared to current vessels, the NYK SUPER ECO SHIP 2050 will reduce CO2 emissions by 100%. The energy-efficient vessel will also reduce energy derived from bunker fuels by approx. 70%.
Elomatic and FS Dynamics from Sweden have agreed to transfer ownership of FS Dynamic’s business operations in Finland, FS Dynamics Finland Oy Ab, to Elomatic on 31.10.2018.
Elomatic and Deltamarin Ltd, both from Turku Finland, have signed a significant agreement with MV WERFTEN Wismar GmbH for the basic and detail design of a second Global class cruise ship. The value of the contract is approximately €17M for Elomatic and €16.5M for Deltamarin. The vessel will be built in parallel in Wismar and Rostock, Germany. The contract was signed on 26.10.2018 and design work has already commenced.
At the beginning of the summer, KONE Oyj organised at two-day Mechathon event with the Tampere University of Applied Science (TAMK). The Mechathon is a mechanics innovation and design competition where a KONE panel selects the best solution for a given challenge. After winning the competition, Elomatic and KONE will cooperate in developing the solution on a joint project.
