Elomatic involved in design of innovative Alrec process chemical recovery plant at Mreal Kaskinen

Since early summer 2008 Elomatic has been involved in the detailed design of the innovative Alrec process chemicals recovery plant at Mreal’s bleached chemi-thermochemical mill in Kaskinen in Western Finland .

Elomatic’s areas of responsibility include the 3D modeling of the plant, piping design, HVAC design, working platform design (main measurement drawings) as well as the request for tenders.

3D piping and ducting project for Drever International S.A.

Elomatic is doing the 3D piping and ducting design of two new hot galvanizing lines for Drever International S.A. who will deliver the lines in Mobile Alabama US to German-based ThyssenKruppStahl.

Drawings created by Elomatic will be used for prefabrication of ducts, pipes and supports, as well as guidance during installation on site.

Drever International S.A. and Drever Systems S.A. located in Liège , Belgium are part of the SMS Demag Group.  Drever International is a market leader for continuous annealing furnaces and galvanizing plants for steel and stainless steel strip.

Elomatic opens design office in Shanghai, China

Elomatic group’s international operations are expanding. Elomatic will be opening a design office in Shanhai , China in June 2008. Pulp and paper industry design work in particular is increasing rapidly in China and Elomatic wishes to provide its current and future customers with local design services in the pulp and paper, plant, mechanical and process industries.

Elomatic’s activities will be focused in Shanghai where several other Finnish and international pulp and paper industry companies are located. Elomatic will strive to later broaden its scope of services to include other industry areas such as the shipbuilding, bio, foodstuffs and chemical industries. Cadmatic 3D plant and ship design solution sales in China have already been started and the first customers have been acquired.

Mr Jouni Lemmetti has been appointed as the Elomatic Shanghai office manager. He has been employed at Elomatic for 13 years and has previously acted as project manager in pulp and paper industry projects.  Elomatic will soon start recruiting several qualified technical experts for paper machine, paper plant and machine design projects.

Elomatic involved in the design of a new generation Estonian Icebreaker

Elomatic will participate in the work to design a new multipurpose icebreaker for the Estonian Maritime Administration. The work is done in cooperation with the main contractor, Aker Arctic Technology Inc. 

Elomatic is performing the basic design for interior, machinery and HVAC in cooperation with Aker Arctic. The new icebreaker will have an overall length of 108 metres and a breadth of 28 metres. It will have a capability to break 1.2 m thick level ice both forward and astern, as well as move smoothly through heavy ice ridges thanks to a novel stern design. It will be equipped for oil recovery and fire fighting.

The vessel is expected to enter service at the beginning of 2011.

Elomatic designing a new multi-purpose vessel for the Finnish Environmental Administration

Elomatic has signed a design contract with UKI Workboat Ltd for the production design and completion of basic design of a multi-purpose vessel for the Finnish Environmental Administration.

The new multi-purpose vessel will be built by UKI Workboat Ltd and will be used by the Finnish Navy for routine tasks. If necessary, the vessel can also be used in mopping up operations of chemical and oil spills. The multi-purpose vessel will significantly improve Finland ’s disaster prevention capabilities at sea, in particular during ice and bad weather conditions.

The vessel will be delivered in 2011. The agreement covers production design and part of the basic design. Design work will commence at the beginning of 2008 and will continue in part until the vessel is delivered. The contract represents 25 man-years in total.
