Elomatic’s cooperates with NYK Line to create concept design for futuristic environmentally friendly container ship

Elomatic Ltd is proud to announce its cooperation with Japanese operator, NYK Line, for the innovative concept design of a futuristic, environmentally friendly and low emission container ship, the NYK Super Eco Ship 2030 (SES). 

The concept design sets the benchmark for cleaner shipping of the future. Elomatic’s scope on the project included researching and identifying the most applicable technologies and incorporating them into the concept design of the vessel. Elomatic cooperated with MTI, NYK Line’s research institute, as well as Italian ship designer Garroni Progetti to produce the concept design of the vessel

The concept vessel makes use of, amongst others, solar and wind power, an innovative container distribution system as well as liquefied natural gas fuel cells to reduce carbon dioxide levels by 70% compared to similar capacity vessels of today. 

The concept design was nominated for the Clean Innovation design award at the Nor-Shipping 2009 exhibition in Oslow, Norway.
