3D design models can also be used in simulation where real-time 3D simulators are very well suited for use in training and marketing.
In simulators the sense of reality plays an important role and only a close approximation to reality makes the simulator usable. An essential element here is taking physics modelling into consideration.
Simulator controlling can be done with a real control unit or with a normal pc control unit. Photo reality can nowadays be achieved without the large calculation capacities of the past. When effects such as sound and vibration are added the user is already very close to reality. Additional realism is achieved e.g. via the stereoscopic effect generated by 3D monitors. By programming random events and tasks into the simulator it becomes an ideal training tool.
