CFD Analysis
Elomatic has highly skilled personnel that are able to use Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) for modeling fluid flow and heat transfer phenomena. It can be used to analyze the flow properties of a proposed product design and produce graphical fluid flow visualizations inside and around the product. Modeling may also include heat transfer, interactions of different fluids, as well as chemical reactions.
CFD is most useful in early design stages, particularly when assessing alternative geometries. It simulates the performance of the product in projected operation conditions, reducing the need for prototypes. Any modifications can be carried out quickly and as early as possible to keep costs down. Failure modes and improvement needs in existing equipment can also be easily investigated using CFD. Optimizing flow characteristics can dramatically enhance the performance of a product. Furthermore, CFD calculation results can be used in stress analysis, particularly when the thermal or mechanical stress produced by the flow is significant.
Technical analysis can for example be used in the early phases of building design and to study city microclimates.
