Project Engineer – Ship Environmental Technology Retrofits
To our Shanghai office:
As a ship environmental technology retrofits project engineer you will take part in the concept, project, basic and detail design related to various retrofits of ships and draw up specifications and make calculations. The work is done independently or as part of a team depending on the size of the commission. You will also take part in different consultancy studies as well as marketing and sales work. The project engineer reports to the Elomatic's Shanghai General Manager as well as to the Marine Business Unit Life Cycle Solutions Manager in Finland.

His/her Major responsibilities:
- Feasibility studies, project-, basic- and detail design of ship retrofit projects related mainly to ballast water management and reduction of air pollution
- Design and develop solutions, according to project targets and requirements
- Project management, communication and co-operation with customers
- Engineering and design quality control, schedules and drawing checks
- Ship inspections and on-site supervision of retrofit projects
- Participation in sales and marketing work to find new customers
- Establish, develop and lead the Marine Team in P.R.China
- Cooperation with other units of Elomatic in Europe
- Other related tasks assigned by the General Manager
Our Requirements:
- Bachelor or Master degree in Shipbuilding or Marine Engineering
- Minimum 10 years working experience
- Good general know-how in ship technology and experience of machinery area systems, devices and propulsion
- Insight, experience and knowledge of the Marine field and its regulations
- Ability to read different PI- and system diagrams and layouts
- Experience in the energy field is a plus
- Good command in language both spoken and written English, as well as Mandarin Chinese. Other language skills is a benefit
- Experience in Office software, ACAD Tools and 3D engineering software such as Nupas-Cadmatic, Aveva Marine, etc. is a benefit
- Proactive and can handle tasks independently
- Not afraid of challenges
- Strong sense of team work and willingness to learn
- Strong sense of responsibility, positive and ready to take initiative
- The applicant has a passport and is willing to travel
- Good health
